Financial Literacy Course - Spring 2026
-
This 6-week course is designed with specific emphasis on LGBTQ+ and BIPOC experiences in mind, but is open to anyone within the community that identifies as a sex worker, trafficking survivor, or someone impacted by the commercial sex industry. This course works to break down how intersectional, systematic, and historical forces contribute to cycles of economic struggle and impact how we show up in relation to money.
Through a combination of science, spirituality, and personal collective lived experiences we will explore how we can address the root of our beliefs and behaviors around money, while learning to recognize the power in our stories. This course aims to support members on a journey towards being able to transform the way we show up in financial decision making moments and utilize newly learned skills to envision and create financial wellness in our lives.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Identify sensations in your body and ground your nervous system to make financial decisions.
Identify and apply learned skills to follow through on necessary financial decisions.
Name at least 3 new skills that you can use when making financial decisions.
Create an individualized budget tailored to your unique lifestyle.
Understand the intersections that affect how you and others show up in relation to money.
Course Content Disclaimer:
We must acknowledge that this course can be uncomfortable at times. You will be unpacking your own lived experiences and how they shaped your relationship to money, while also exploring these experiences through an intergenerational lens. This process can be incredibly intense.
The material and somatic practices in this course may surface emotions and experiences that you haven’t fully processed before. This can be overwhelming for the body. While there is plenty of support and guidance through this process embedded into the course, we believe that it is important to inform participants of the possible emotional toll participating in a course designed in this way could come with to allow you to make an informed decision when joining us.
