Couples Counseling for

Survivors of Trafficking, Sex Workers, and their Partners

  • Are you struggling with communicating with your partner?

  • Do you feel like your partnership is struggling with co-dependency?

  • Are you frequently struggling with misunderstanding, emotional closeness, and unhealthy patterns?

  • Is it really hard to talk to your partner about your past trafficking experiences?

  • Are you currently in the industry and want to have a space to talk to your partner about your work?

  • Do you just want a safe space to talk with your partner?

Having community, building partnerships, and sustaining relationships is an essential human need that we all have, regardless of our past experiences or trauma histories.

For some, your relationship is the foundation of a life you lead for yourself, grounded in care, comfort, understanding, and support.

At YAMT, through Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment Based Therapy and trauma-informed couples counseling, we strengthen the foundation of your relationships so you can continue to thrive in your most intimate relationships.

YAMT welcomes and affirms all relationships and aims to uplift

  • LGBTQ+ couples and partnerships (monogmous and ethical non-monogmous couples)

  • Partners healing from trauma after leaving their trafficking situation

  • Sex workers looking to build better communication and support within their relationships

  • Relationships that need support in navigating identity, intimacy, and external challenges.

  • Through a survivor-centered, trauma-informed approach, we provide free couples counseling services to couples throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

    Clinicians within our Wellness Center are survivor leaders and allies trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT), Trauma-focused Family Therapy (TF-CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

    • Therapeutic services are provided for 100% free to couples throughout PA and NJ for 18 months.

    • YAMT does not require insurance to access these services.

    • Currently services are provided virtually.

  • Yes, if you are interested in individual therapy services and you are located in PA or NJ, you can apply for our individual therapy here.

Our organization does not provide case management OR crisis management support

(i.e. if you are in danger or in need of exiting the commercial sex industry, finding resources for food, shelter, or immediate mental health crisis support - we do not provide these type of services)
