October 3-7 | Starting at $500Clinical Internships at YAMT
Internship Opportunities at You Are More Than
Since 2022, our wellness center has been dedicated to building the next generation of trauma clinicians and social workers by investing in their well-being, skills, and knowledge.
❋ Exposure to Intensive Trauma Training
Interns are provided with 40 hours of training prior to starting their internship, focused on increasing their knowledge of treating dissociation, complex trauma, complex bereavement, neurodivergence, racial trauma, and LGBTQ+ affirming care.
Post 40-hour training, interns are always encouraged to learn and have access to a training library (asynchronous) that will build up their skills in evidence-based modalities, including but not limited to EMDR, IFS, DBT, TF-CBT, and narrative therapy.
❋ Individual and Group Supervision
Interns receive weekly individual and group supervision from licensed clinicians through collaborative case planning, skill development, and relationship-building with clients.
❋ Program Development Exposure
Interns will have the opportunity to get exposure to a blend of nonprofit/community mental health and private practice style internship, improving both their micro-level (individual, group, couples, and family counseling) and macro-level skills (program development and organizational change).
❋ Shaping the future of Trauma Treatment for Human Trafficking Survivors
95% of survivors within YAMT’s care expressed that finding counseling services with a provider who is competent in serving survivors of human trafficking and sex workers with intersectional identities is difficult to provide. YAMT wants to create a world where survivors are no longer facing barriers for care within mental health settings. This internship is your first step towards providing that exceptional care.
