-
Currently services are provided virtually.

For YAMT’s family therapy specifically, we focused on building up the skills of the parents/guardians within the child’s life. Increasing your overall capacity as a parent/guardian to cope, build empathy, build understanding, and establish tools that will better support the child long-term.
-
Yes! We support LGBTQ+ families with a child impacted by trafficking. Majority of our clinicians identify as LGBTQ+ themselves and LGTBQ+ affirming care is integrated within the foundation of our mental health services.
How do I know if my family may be a good fit?
-
Parental Scope:
Am I a parent, guardian, or resource parent of an impacted child?
Am I open to learning from an unbiased party about how I can better support my child?
Am I struggling to find resources in my community to support my child?
Do my child's experiences fit the scope at YAMT?
If at any point in your child’s life that they had to exchange sex in order to get their needs met?
If a parent made a youth engage in sexual acts as a kid in exchange for something of value, cash, substance use, etc. Or forced the child to engage in child sexual abuse material in exchange for money.
If the youth experienced being unhoused or aged out of the foster care system, and had to utilize sex to get their basic needs met.
Your child, was exploited by a group of individuals, whether it be through religiously, through a cult, gang etc.
Please note that this list is NOT all-encompassing. There are so many experiences of exploitation and harm that someone can experience in their lifetime; these are just examples of what engagement in the commercial sex industry can look like.
Important things to note:
YAMT currently does not provide individual therapy services to any survivor under the age of 18.
It’s important that the child has a regular individual therapist, in addition to YAMT’s Family Therapist.
Do you have a child who has been identified as a survivor of trafficking?
Do you want support with parenting skills to better support your child?
Are you a non-offending parent or guardian whose child was trafficked by a family member (familial trafficking), and you want support in rebuilding your relationship with your child?
Have you adopted a child who has past experiences of trafficking and needs support and tools to better support the child?
Are you an adult survivor who wants support in better communicating with your family about your past experiences of trafficking, but having difficulty with them understanding, having empathy, and processing accountability?
Are you an adult survivor who is a parent and you’re struggling with parenting, support, communicate, and connecting with your children because of your past experiences of trauma or trafficking experiences?
Other Examples:
My child was exploited by image-based exploitation, and I don’t know how to talk to them about this.
