About the Birthday Campaign
For many survivors, birthdays represent a special time of year when they can start anew and embark on another year around the sun filled with joy, rest, and stability.
As an ally, you can help make their birthdays even more special by pledging your birthday to You Are More Than!
All donations raised from your birthday campaign will go back into the impactful programs that YAMT provides to survivors and those impacted by the commercial sex industry nationally.
Steps to get started
Pledge Your Birthday
Email us at info@yamt.org so we can invite you to your own personalized campaign page. Here you will set a fundraising goal; we suggest a minimum of $200! Once you email us, you will receive an invitation from donorbox.org — accept that invite!
Announce your campaign!
Birthday campaigns are most successful when you share it with everyone you know (via text, email, or phone call) and make sure that your campaign page is unique. Speak to why you are fundraising for YAMT and why you hope others will donate to your campaign.
Give survivors a barrier-free pathway
Every $100 raised will provide survivors with a barrier-free pathway to mental health, education, and economic empowerment. Your birthday pledge will change the lives of the survivors we serve nationally. Thank you for making this happen/
YAMT’s Impact
Based in New Jersey, You Are More Than is committed to serving survivors nationally. Since opening our doors in 2020, YAMT has uplifted 773 survivors across 35 states.
Through our wellness program, we have provided free survivor-centered, trauma-focused individual, family, couples, and group counseling services; peer mentorship; and increased survivor access to mental health care through grants for therapy co-pays, psychiatric evaluations, and alternative forms of treatment such as Reiki, bodywork therapy, and acupuncture.
YAMT’s Career and Education Development program supports our members in reinvesting in their own entrepreneurial, professional, and educational journeys through one-on-one support and guidance, assistance with resource gathering, small-group courses, and skill-building webinars to help members reach their long-term goals. Our outcomes over the last 6 years are transformative. As an agency, we have made an impact by providing:
2,000 wellness sessions (Individual, Couples, and Group counseling services)
Empowering 57 survivor-led small businesses through capacity building, mentorship, and financial support.
Awarded 50 scholarships for survivors and sex workers nationally to pursue education ventures within trade school, certification programs, and 2-4 year college programs.
Trained over 4296 community providers on culturally affirming care and services for marginalized survivors.
Disbursed $187,000 in flexible funding dollars back into the survivor community through our emergency fund, therapy co-pay reimbursement fund, and career and education program.
You can help us raise funds for survivors and ensure they receive continued long-term aftercare support.
