You Are More Than Inc.

A little about me: I am a queer, survivor leader from Tennesse and I love dogs. I am really passionate about giving back to our survivor community and currently work as a research analyst at Columbia University. I have a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and my favorite food to eat right now is vegan chocolate chip cookies. I’ve been a peer mentor in the past to survivors within the criminal justice system group home settings and through a small nonprofit in my community.

What peer mentor relationships do you thrive in?

I love supporting fellow survivors who are interested in creating their own nonprofits or small businesses. I also love helping fellow survivors establish effective coping skills.

What made you become a peer mentor?

I really want to give back to my community in whatever way I can. I love supporting people and being a listening ear. I’m really good at seeing the positives in situations and pulling the greatness out of you.

What area of support would be most aligned with your work with mentees?

› Community Resource Navigation

› Job Preparation/ Support

› Building and Starting a Nonprofit or Small Business

› Emotional Skill Building

How do you take care of yourself when helping others?

I love target runs and taking my dog to the dog park. My favorite thing to do on weekends is to paint or clean so usually after a long day you can find me doing that.
