About
Tip of the Spear Psychotherapy Group (TOS) was founded with the intention and determination to provide people of all ages access to quality mental health care, utilizing adaptive therapeutic techniques, hand tailored for the individual.
Michelle joined TOS following a longtime career in public safety telecommunications as a 911 dispatcher, with a continued passion for supporting those in service to others within the first responder community. Michelle’s more recent professional experience includes working with at-risk, runaway, and homeless youth, with a narrow focus on CSEC/CST youth. She has extensive experience working with victims and survivors of human trafficking of all ages, and a passion for supporting the service providers in the anti-trafficking community. Michelle holds a BA in Applied Behavior Science from the University of Arizona Global Campus and a Master of Social Work with a focus in trauma from Walden University. Michelle’s combined professional and educational experiences have inspired her clinical work to support individuals who have experienced a variety of traumatic events, understanding the impact those experiences can have. As an integrated trauma therapist, she is passionate about empowering individuals to heal from trauma, enhancing quality of life, and achieving lasting wellness. Her approach is grounded in compassion, respect, and a deep understanding of the complexities of trauma.
How does your practice affirm BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals?
My practice is rooted in inclusivity, cultural humility, and respect for the unique experiences of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals. I prioritize creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where all identities are acknowledged and valued. By integrating an intersectional lens, I address the ways systemic oppression, discrimination, and cultural factors may impact mental health. I continuously engage in ongoing education and self-reflection to ensure my practice remains affirming and empowering, fostering healing and resilience for every individual I work with.
My Ideal Client:
I work best with individuals who are ready to embark on a journey of healing and self-discovery. My ideal patient is someone who recognizes the impact of their experiences and is courageous enough to seek support in addressing the emotional, mental, and physical effects of trauma. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, past wounds, or any other life challenges, I provide a compassionate, collaborative, and empowering space to help you uncover resilience and achieve personal growth.
