About
Hello everyone, my name is Alexandra and I am a graduate student pursuing my Masters in Social Work with a certification in Interpersonal Violence & Trauma.
My journey in social work never truly began until I came to terms with my identity as a domestic violence survivor. Learning to embrace the aspect of my life I tried so relentlessly to bury was scary, confusing and filled with anger; but, it was one of the most empowering and defining moments I have ever experienced. Recreating who I was without a domineering voice telling me who to be taught me how to accept all of myself, the good, the bad and the ugly.
I fought through my journey of recovery in order to tell my story, and I'm here today to help you tell yours.
Who is your ideal client?
An ideal client for me is anyone who is ready to open the door of their feelings. In life, we may not be able to right the terrible wrongs we have endured, but together we can pick up the fragmented pieces of ourselves on our timeline, finally allowing us to feel whole again.
My responsibility is to help others reclaim the voice that so many of us have had stolen. Whether you're struggling with the burden of trauma or simply everyday life, the moment you are ready to explore and take a journey within themselves, you'll be greeted with a space thats your own, filled with unconditional acceptance and support.
How does your practice affirm BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals?
As a white cis-gender woman, it's my responsibility to acknowledge the undeserved advantages I have been granted by simply existing. Within my work, I aim to create a safe haven where individuals feel every part of themselves are seen, heard and uplifted. My job is to work alongside you and honor your experiences, regardless of our differences. Here all identities are welcomed, loved and embraced.
